We are constantly inspired by shapes found in nature, and this one in particular reminds us of "tinik" or fish bones. Weirdly beautiful, right? These oddly shaped treasures from the Philippine sea are called keshi pearls, but I like to call them "ugly pearls." An eccentric alternative to perfectly round pearls, I created this minimalist design to highlight the beautiful aberrations that nature has imprinted on each ugly pearl.
This item is crafted by hand in the Philippines using freshwater pearls. Please note that each ugly pearl is unique and that each "flaw" is as intended by Mother Nature. Slight differences in size and colors may occur in the process making. Please handle with care.
Available in two colors.
Silver is 3.8" long and 1.5" wide.
Black is 3.5" long and 1" wide.

Frequently Asked Questions
Your items have made such a long and special journal from the sea to your home. Do not use soap and water or vinegar to clean them and do not expose to running water. Care for them by wiping clean with a soft cloth after use.
Why doesn't my item look exactly as pictured?
Each item is crafted by hand in the Philippines using natural and organic materials. Please note that each item is unique and that each "flaw" is as intended by Mother Nature. Slight differences in size and colors may occur in the process making. Please handle with care.
How are your products sustainable?
The organic materials we use are pearl and mother of pearl, which are sustainably sourced from oyster farms. Oyster farms naturally filter water by removing nitrogen and heavy metals from the water they live in, creating a natural bio-solution for polluted water.

What sort of packaging is used to ship your products?
In some cases, you may receive your items in standard USPS padded envelopes or boxes. Whenever possible, we use repurposed and/or recyclable boxes and packing material from previous shipments in order to extend their life cycles. We encourage our customers to do the same!
What are your carbon offsetting initiatives?
We are proud to sell our products on Etsy, which is the first major online shopping destination to offset 100% of carbon emissions generated by shipping. Now, every time you receive a package from Etsy, the company balances out the carbon emissions by investing in emissions reduction projects that keep our Earth beautiful, clean, and green—which means you can feel extra-good about every special delivery.
Even our official website is powered by Etsy, which means that all orders placed there benefit from 100% carbon offsetting as well!
